Website terms

Last updated:

These Terms and Conditions explain the rules that apply when you use BottleneckLab.com, its PC bottleneck calculator, hardware guides, verification resources, and related website features.

By accessing or using BottleneckLab, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the website.

Important points before you continue

  • BottleneckLab provides free PC hardware information and directional performance estimates.
  • The calculator does not scan, inspect, or benchmark your computer.
  • Calculator percentages are estimates, not measured FPS loss or a performance guarantee.
  • You remain responsible for checking compatibility and making your own hardware decisions.
  • Product purchases, payments, delivery, warranties, and returns are handled by third-party retailers.

About BottleneckLab

BottleneckLab is an independently operated online PC hardware information and estimation website available at BottleneckLab.com.

References to BottleneckLab, we, us, or our in these Terms refer to the operator of this website.

BottleneckLab provides a CPU and GPU bottleneck calculator, hardware-pairing research, troubleshooting guidance, verification resources, and educational information about PC performance and upgrade decisions.

BottleneckLab is not a hardware retailer. We do not directly sell, ship, install, repair, or manufacture PC components, and we do not process retailer payments through this website.

Accepting These Terms

You may use BottleneckLab only when you can lawfully agree to these Terms. If you use the website on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization.

Some website features may also be subject to additional notices, disclosures, or instructions shown on the relevant page. Those notices form part of the conditions for using that feature.

Calculator Results Are Estimates

The BottleneckLab calculator uses the hardware and workload information selected by the visitor, together with maintained hardware reference data and reviewed performance patterns, to produce a directional estimate.

The calculator does not scan your computer, inspect installed hardware, read temperatures, detect drivers, monitor background software, or run a benchmark on your system.

A calculator percentage is not a measured loss of FPS. It is not a guarantee that one component will limit every game, application, scene, resolution, graphics setting, or frame-rate target by the displayed amount.

Real performance can change because of factors including:

  • the game, application, scene, and software version;
  • resolution, graphics settings, and target frame rate;
  • ray tracing, upscaling, and frame-generation settings;
  • RAM capacity, memory channel configuration, and memory speed;
  • VRAM use, storage behavior, and background applications;
  • drivers, operating-system settings, BIOS settings, and power limits;
  • temperatures, cooling, clock speeds, and thermal throttling;
  • streaming, recording, browser activity, and other workloads.

Treat a calculator result as a starting point for investigation, not as a replacement for repeatable monitoring on the actual computer.

Evidence takes priority: when repeatable monitoring from the real computer conflicts with a calculator estimate, the real-world evidence should take priority.

Hardware Information and Purchase Decisions

Articles, pairing guides, upgrade suggestions, compatibility reminders, and calculator results on BottleneckLab are provided for general informational and educational purposes.

They are not individualized technical, financial, repair, or installation advice. A recommendation that is reasonable for one user may not suit another user with a different budget, platform, workload, monitor, case, power supply, cooling setup, or upgrade goal.

Before buying or installing hardware, confirm details including:

  • the exact CPU, GPU, motherboard, and product model;
  • socket, chipset, BIOS, and processor support;
  • DDR4 or DDR5 memory compatibility;
  • power-supply capacity and required connectors;
  • case clearance, GPU dimensions, and cooler clearance;
  • cooler mounting support and thermal requirements;
  • current price, seller, warranty, return policy, and availability.

If you are not confident about installing, configuring, or troubleshooting hardware, seek help from a qualified technician.

You remain responsible for your purchasing, installation, configuration, repair, overclocking, undervolting, BIOS, and upgrade decisions.
