Your Calculator Runs in the Browser, but Some Website Services Still Process Data

BottleneckLab can be used without creating an account, signing in, installing software, or allowing a hardware scan. Calculator selections are primarily processed in your browser. The current calculator may also keep a short recent-build history in that browser so you can reopen recent selections.

Hosting, security, analytics, advertising, affiliate, email, and other service providers may process limited information for their stated purposes. This Policy explains the difference between browser-local calculator data and information handled by the website or its providers.

Who This Policy Covers and What “BottleneckLab” Means

This Privacy Policy applies to bottlenecklab.com, its calculator, articles, browser-based features, direct email contact, advertising, analytics, and affiliate links.

Website operator

In this Policy, “BottleneckLab,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of bottlenecklab.com. The site is presented as an independently operated project and does not claim a legal company name, office, or jurisdiction that has not been established.

External services

A manufacturer, retailer, analytics provider, advertising provider, affiliate network, email provider, social platform, or other external operator has its own privacy practices.

Current website behavior

This Policy describes the website and calculator features materially reviewed on the date shown above. It may be updated when the site, providers, or legal requirements change.

Calculator Selections and Browser-Local Recent Builds

The calculator uses the information you select to generate the result shown on your screen. It does not remotely identify your installed hardware or measure the real computer.

1 You select

Build and target details

CPU, GPU, resolution, target frame rate, workload, and optional context such as refresh rate, graphics preset, RAM, memory setup, rendering features, background load, and streaming encoder.

2 Browser processes

Directional estimate

The browser uses the selected values and calculator data to display a CPU-side, GPU-side, balanced, or uncertain estimate with interpretation and warnings.

3 Browser may retain

Recent-build summary

The current calculator may store up to six recent build summaries in local storage so you can reopen them on the same browser.

Saved only in that browser

What the current recent-build history may contain

CPU identifier and name GPU identifier and name Resolution Target FPS Workload profile Optional game or application name DDR or memory type Saved time

This browser-local history is not attached to an account. Through the calculator itself, BottleneckLab does not intentionally receive it as a personal build profile. The feature saves selection summaries, not a live scan of your hardware, files, temperatures, frame rates, or account information.

Local storage can remain available across browser sessions until it is removed. It can also be unavailable or cleared automatically under certain browser, device, privacy-mode, storage, or user settings. The calculator is designed to continue working when recent-build storage is unavailable.

Contact Emails, Server Logs, and Technical Information

Technical records

Server, hosting, caching, and security logs

Website infrastructure may automatically process or record technical information when a page, file, script, image, or other resource is requested.

  • IP address;
  • requested URL, page, file, or query string;
  • date and time;
  • browser, operating system, and device information;
  • referring page or traffic source;
  • response status, errors, and performance information;
  • security, abuse, and unusual-activity signals.

These records may be used for delivery, caching, availability, security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, and service improvement.

Email is not a private on-site form

Email providers, hosting providers, spam filters, security services, internet networks, and the recipient’s devices may process message content and metadata. Avoid sending passwords, payment details, private keys, or unnecessary sensitive records.

WordPress, hosting, security, or anti-spam services may process technical information such as the IP address, browser or user-agent details, submission time, page URL, and message content to detect spam, abuse, fraud, or security problems.

Comments may be held for moderation, approved, rejected, edited for safety or formatting, or removed when they violate site rules or create legal, security, or spam concerns.
